Fabrics

Fabrics

Fabric is one of the most versatile decorating elements, as it lets you add pattern and colour to a room in varying amounts, from a simple scatter cushion or larger areas such as curtains or upholstery. This way you can afford to be daring and not have to go to the expense of redecorating or refurnishing the whole room.

At Honeysuckle we have one of the best libraries of fabric samples outside of London. Come and browse at your leisure or let the Design Team guide you through the hundreds of choices available. We have over 130 suppliers who include Harlequin, Zoffany, Sanderson, Osborne & Little, Romo, Morris & Co, Jane Churchill, Colefax & Fowler, Casamance, Lewis and Wood, Vanessa Arbuthnott and Kate Foreman – to name a few!

All our fabrics are available to order and are usually delivered in 2 – 3 working days or next day by arrangement. We’ll also make sure that you won’t be charged any more than the recommended retail price per metre for the privilege.

Though we specialise in the make up of quality furnishings, we are just as happy to supply fabric for you to make up yourself. We always have a selection of haberdashery including lining, interlining, curtain tapes and buckrams and all other curtain making sundries in stock to buy by the metre. We also have a selection of ex-display show lengths and remnants on sale.

If you would like to know how to make up your own beautiful soft furnishings why not join us on one of our popular furnishing workshops. To find out more click onto our ‘Courses and Workshops’ link.

Cushions

Cushions

Cushions of all shapes and sizes will add colour, comfort and warmth and soften the hard edges of your home furnishings.

Cushions suit every style whether you have traditional or modern taste. They present the perfect opportunity to combine a variety of fabrics and textures and are a way of enjoying expensive or luxurious fabrics in small quantities. Adding piping and trimmings will allow you the opportunity to add the finishing touch and draw attention to the finer details. Use cushions to link different elements of a scheme in a room.

Consider the overall scheme and use cushion covers to repeat fabrics, designs or colours used elsewhere in the room. Cushions can also be used to add splashes of colour on neutral furniture.

Cushions usually look better when placed squarely rather than on their tips. If a cushion cover is made from striped or strong geometric design, then as a general rule the pattern should run vertically rather than horizontally.

Quality upholstery

Upholstered Furniture

Experience Comfort, and Style and value for money, at Honeysuckle where we are committed to quality and design.

If you like our curtains you’ll love our upholstery. The essential difference with the quality of our workmanship is what you don’t see. Appearances can be deceptive, so before you buy a new sofa try one of ours. Attention to impeccable hand tailoring distinguishes our upholstery from assembly line furniture.

All frames are made from hard woods with glued, screwed and dowelled joints for maximum strength. Frames are lined out to give additional protection to your fabric. Units have combined coil springs tensions so that optimum comfort and support is achieved. Either flat springs or coil springs are used in the backs of our models for lasting posture support. You can choose from a wide selection of fillings for your cushions to help you achieve the level of support and comfort that is right for you. Each piece is traditionally upholstered by a skilled craftsman and inspected at six stages during manufacture to ensure you receive the highest quality finish possible. We’ll help you choose a fabric and style that complements your room design.

To ensure your upholstery arrives in perfect condition, the majority of our deliveries are carried out on our own transport.

Re-Upholstery

If you are looking for a quality re-upholstery service with a difference, we will provide it for you. We will discuss your individual requirements, visit your home and remove any furniture for re-upholstery purposes.

Our skilled re-upholsterers will inspect your piece, remove existing cover fabric, carefully measure, cut and recover with your chosen material, replacing any broken springs, webbing, canvas or padding, and re-cramping and glue loose joints on frames, if required. Where possible, we will supply new cushions if needed, using only the highest quality, high resilient foam, latex, feather and down or fibre fill. Padding is always fire retardant, which will not only add comfort, but also provide you with safety in your home.

We offer a comprehensive range of trimmings and fabrics from some of the leading fabric houses, including Linwood, Blendworth, GP & J Baker, Sanderson, Romo, Villa Nova, Mulberry and Zoffany to name a few. However, we are also willing to upholster your piece if you have your own fabric. Our terms are 50% deposit on placement of order with balance due on delivery of goods, usually delivered within 6 weeks subject to fabric availability.
